About

This will be the first DPAC consortium meeting in which representatives from all CUs and DPCs participate. It is intended as a working meeting with the following goals in mind:

  • Share and discuss data processing results
  • Work on cross-CU/DPC issues
  • Prepare for the first data release
  • Bring DPAC members together who do not normally meet
  • Team building
  • Visibility for DPAC

The meeting will take place from November 16 to 20 2015 in Leiden at the conference facilities of the Holiday Inn. The meeting starts on Monday at lunch time and ends on Friday at lunchtime. The detailed programme will be announced later, but the plan is to have plenary morning sessions to present and discuss results of interest to everyone in the consortium. The afternoons will be used to organize splinter meetings which are aimed at working on cross-CU or cross-DPC issues. The meeting will also feature a public lecture on Gaia and an event for the press.

Please note that this meeting is only for DPAC members

About Leiden

Leiden is an old and friendly university town with a population of 120,000. Leiden University (founded in 1575) is the oldest university in the Netherlands and the old university buildings are spread throughout the city centre. Walking around you will see canals, windmills and 17th century buildings, with lots of little cafes in small alley ways. Most of the city centre is within easy walking distance and it is definitely worth to a tour by foot or by boat.
